Although I now live in the USA, my photographic career really took off during my 20 years of living and exploring Southern Africa. Through my business, Nunnington Natural Images, I offer a range of services: assignments, workshops and individual teaching and a collection of truly collectable fine art prints. Also, having worked for major stock agencies for much of my career, I decided to finally create my own stock photography library.

I particularly enjoy teaching the best ways to photograph in the wilds – encouraging others to develop their personal photographic vision, field skills and appreciation and understanding of natural history. Workshops are offered in Maine (Baxter, Acadia N.P), the Great Smoky Mountains N.P, the Everglades/Southern Florida, the high desert country of Utah, and Glacier N.P. In addition I run a blog site with regularly updated imagery and interesting background information on the technique or location.

I strongly believe that in order to develop as a nature photographer, you need a passion for your subject. This can be something as small and unobtrusive as lichens, or the grandeur of the “Big Five” on the savannas of Africa. However, I also believe that the greatest joy is not the final image - it is the photographic journey, the experience, and just being out there!
